How to Generate High Quality Leads Using Video Marketing

Video is the future of marketing. No, scratch that. It is the present and future of marketing, and if you’re yet to include video marketing into your business promotion strategy, you’re leaving a lot of money on the table.

A couple of years ago using video as a marketing media was a matter of choice, but presently, it’s an important piece of the marketing puzzle that shouldn’t be left out – if fantastic ROI on your advertising dollars sounds like a good idea.

While a lot of business owners are yet to see the incredible benefits that video marketing could bring to their business, a few savvy ones are already running a couple of video marketing campaigns, and they are smiling to the bank.

Just in case you’re yet to understand how powerful video marketing is, here are some statistics from around the web to help put things into perspective:

  • Marketers who utilize video in their marketing get 66% more qualified leads per year –Optinmonster, 2019.
  • Marketers who use video in their marketing achieve a 54% increase in brand awareness.
  • In 2018, 93% of marketers who used video on social media said they landed new customers.
  • Viewers are 95% more likely to recall a call to action on your business website after watching a video, while just about 10% of viewers do, when reading it in text format – Forbes, 2017

I can go on and on with the stats, but hopefully, you get the point by now. Video marketing has the potential to bring in more high-quality leads and skyrocket your business profits.

You should include video marketing in your internet marketing strategy if you haven’t already. And in this article, I’ll be showing you five creative ways you can start using video to get more leads and sales for your business.

Gate Your Video Content

“Gating” is the act of locking your content behind an imaginary gate that can only be unlocked (and accessed) after the user has taken a specific action on your site.

Some recommended actions that you should make users take on your site before they are given access to your video content are things like:

  • Submit a name and/or email address
  • Tweet or share your content on Facebook
  • Request a callback
  • Download specific document or content

The action could be anything, and it will vary from one business to another. The actual action to be taken will depend on what the specific immediate marketing goals are – capture more leads or to drive up content views.

Include Videos on Your Landing Pages

Landing pages are meant to engage your prospects and persuade them to take one step deeper into your sales funnel.  What is a better way to supercharge your landing page to achieve this goal than using videos?

According to Forbes, the average user spends 88% more time on a website when there’s a video on it, compared to when there’s none. And the longer a prospect spends on your website, the higher the chance of a conversion taking place.

This illustrates how incredibly important it is to include videos on your landing pages to increase leads and sales conversion.

Add Specific CTAs at the End of Each Video

When you don’t add a call-to-action (CTA) at the end of your marketing videos, it’s basically the same thing as leading your prospects to the middle of the desert, then abandoning with no clear path to follow. You don’t want to do that.

Listen, when you fail to give clear and specific CTAs at the end of your marketing videos, you’re adding extra steps for your prospects to pass through before they can convert into a lead or sale. That extra step is leaving your prospects with the task of figuring out what to do next by themselves.

Remember, humans, are naturally lazy. So, when you give them extra steps to follow, most of them will drift away – which will hurt your conversion rates.

Capture More Leads on Social Media

If you want to attract more business leads, you have to put your marketing message where your target audience hangs out en mass. Where do most people spend 80% of their time these days? Social Media!

According to stats from Bright Cove, videos receive 1200% more shares than images and text combined, and this highlights how far your marketing message (and conversion rate) will travel when you start posting videos to your business’ social media channels.

Host Live Video Sessions

Being that live videos are, oh well, live, prospects normally feel compelled to watch and engage with them before the live sessions end. This gives you an opportunity to attract more viewers and capture more business leads.

Now, not everyone is comfortable with the idea of facing the camera and putting a video of themselves out there. If you’re in that category of people, there’s a workaround.

The workaround is to have a professional promo video done for your business, then run a Facebook “watch party” and screen the video live.

Doing this will also give you equal (or even better) results than holding a raw Facebook live session.
